Alice Rita (Lubowicz) Heideman, 78 of Clarksburg, MA died Saturday November 19, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born in Adams, MA on October 22, 1938 daughter of Boleslaw T. and Anna S. (Dunaj) Lubowicz. She attended Adams schools and graduated from Adams Memorial High School with the class of 1956.
Alice was first employed at "The Crest" in Adams for many years, where she was in sole charge of the ledgers, ordering and all tasks to make the business run efficiently. She then worked at Sprague Electric Co. for 40 years from 1956 until the plant closed in 1996, retiring as a marketing secretary.
She was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and then St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church when St. Francis closed. Alice enjoyed crocheting cat cozies for the local animal shelters; couponing; trips to the casino; tag sales; computer games; and number painting. She especially enjoyed sitting on her swing reading and listening to the birds.
She was the widow of Robert J. Heideman who died on November 17, 2009. They were married on June 18, 1960.
Survivors include two daughters-Karen A. Cyr and her husband, Gary R. Cyr and Audrey L. Matys of Clarksburg; and one son- Robert A. Heideman of Adams; and three grandchildren- Autumn and Lauren Matys and Alex D. Heideman; nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat "Peek-A Boo". She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister- Irene T. Carter, Anthony J. Carter and William A. Lubowich.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Alice Heideman will be celebrated Wednesday November 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS- WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Wednesday morning from 9-10:30 AM.
