Florence Jean Cristofolini, 74, of Pownal, VT. died on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY.
She was born on March 21, 1942 in North Adams, MA daughter of the late Clifford and Barbara (Scott) Oakes. She attended schools at Readsboro Elementary School & Whitingham High School.
She married Mario Richard Cristofolini on October 17, 1959 in St. Joachim’s Church, Readsboro. Florence worked for many years at their family store, Mario’s Variety Store in Reasboro, where she was the head store clerk. She also worked at Hogback Mt. Gifts, Horizon Inn and True Value in Wilmington, Vermont.
Florence was a member of St. Anne’s Women’s Catholic group, and enjoyed Bingo, bowling, reading and playing cards- she was a true Boston Sports Fan, especially for the Boston Red Sox.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Mario Cristofolini, her son Richard Cristofolini and his wife Traci of Stamford Vermont, Daughter Lisa Filler and her partner Bruce J. Andrews of Bennington, VT. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ryan D. Filler of Memphis, TN, Eric M. Filler of Orlando, FL, and Caleb and Lorenzo Cristofolini of Stamford Vermont. She also leaves her sister, Phyllis DeBlois and two brothers Dennis Oakes and Mark Colford; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Laurelle Oakes.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Florence Cristofolini will be celebrated on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joachim’s Church in Readsboro, Vermont.
