Condolence: Dear Irv,

I just learned that you're gone, that I'll never get to tell you all the things one would say to a man who was like her second father. So I'm writing through my tears in the hope that this message will find its way to you in heaven.
You never spoke of unconditional love, but you showered me with it. Baking my first apple pie, and catching my first fish. Teaching me (the hard way) how to dress for the frigid Vermont winters, how to train dogs, and love Weimaraners. I will carry that love with me always, and and share it as you did.
You were a wonderful storyteller, and and jokester! I almost believed the tale of the mermaid of Somersetlake. After all, you had photographed her. Then you presented me with a framed picture of me catching my first fish on that very lake.
Thank you for the things you've handed down. I am profoundly grateful!

Condolence: Dr Tanzman was very special. I visited him for contact lenses when I was 14 (and that was over 50 years ago!). I have remained his patient most of the years since; even when it wasn't a convenient distance to his office. I just saw him a few months ago, and he looked terrific. We talked about how long ago it had been since my first encounter when contact lenses were quite new (especially in our region). There aren't many doctors like Dr. Tanzman. He was a true professional and a joy. We often talked about our adventures and trips to Italy. His legacy is quite incredible. What a well-lived life he had. My heart goes out to his family. May he rest in peace.

Condolence: My condolences to the family. Irv was a great guy- glad I got to visit with him a few years back up here in anchorage. Good memories of the man.He left quite a legacy.
