Obituary for Sheldon Perry "Pete" Field

Sheldon Perry "Pete" Field, 83 of North Adams, MA died Monday April 17, 2017 at Williamstown Commons.
He was born in North Adams, MA on December 7, 1933 son of Perry and Muriel (Fetridge) Field. He attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from the Williamstown High School.
He served in the Mass National Guard.
Pete was first employed at the Mohawk Paper Mill. He was a longtime firefighter with the North Adams Fire Department serving from 1964 until his retirement in 1989.
Pete was a member of the Greylock Community Club. He was also a member of the Elks Club, the Moose Club and the Masons Lodge. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball team and the Pittsburgh Steelers football team.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey (Brenenstuhl) Field whom he married on November 27, 1954 and two sons- Bruce Field and his wife, Lynda and Peter Field, both of North Adams. He also leaves two grandchildren- April Field and Shawn Field and his wife, Leah; and three great grandchildren including Kayla Field, Michael Field and Easton Field; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Charles Field who died April 14, 1994 and his sister Shirley Avis Mills who died March 22, 2017.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Pete Field will be Thursday April 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams. Burial will follow in Southlawn cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to POPCares in care of the funeral home.
