Obituary for Albert Harvey Chenail

Albert Harvey Chenail, 96, of North Adams, MA died on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT. He was born on December 17, 1920 a son of the late Frederick J. and Jessie (LaFramboise) Chenail.
He attended schools in North Adams, graduating from Drury High School. He later attended North Adams State College. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Navy. He was last employed as a navy inspector for the Federal government, where he worked for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He enjoyed readings, especially about history and traveling. He and his late wife, Rita, travelled throughout the world.
Albert was the widower of Rita Mae (Bergeron) Chenail, whom he married on July 30, 1953. She died on September 7, 1997.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by three brothers, Clifford, Norman and Russell Chenail and four sisters, Loretta Petropolus, Mildred Giroux, Christine O’Connell and Rita Harvey.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, four of whom he was close to: James Harvey and his wife Christine of Clarksburg, Richard Chenail and his wife Gunnel of Charlotte, NC, Antoinette Hawke and her husband Thomas of North Adams and Michele D. Chenail of North Adams.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Albert Chenail will take place on Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams, MA. A calling hour will be held from 9:30-10:30AM at the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Homes – CENTRAL Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
