Obituary for Rodney Armand Prevey

Rodney Armand Prevey, 78, of North Adams, MA died on Monday May 1, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in Adams, MA on August 25, 1938 a son of the late Clifford E. and Amanda "Martha" (Thouin) Prevey.
He attended schools in North Adams, graduating from Drury High School. He later went on to graduate from North Adams State College. He was a decorated veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He served as a police officer for the City of North Adams from August 19, 1960 to June 30, 1998 serving as sergeant for many years and retired as Director of the city police force. He was a communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church. He was an avid golfer. Rodney was a licensed pilot and served on the North Adams Airport Commission for many years
Rodney was the widower of Eileen Ann (Reardon) Prevey, whom he married on June 15, 1963. She died on January 7, 2017. Survivors include four daughters, Kathleen Prevey-Levin and her husband, Matthew of Amherst, NH; Melissa Prevey and her husband, Daniel Sullivan of Redding, CT; Martha Prevey-Dupee and her husband, David of Cheshire, MA; and Ellyn Prevey and her husband, David Catrambone of Easthampton, MA; and two sons, Paul Prevey and his husband, Saul of Salem, MA; and Kyle Prevey and his wife, Sidney of Kirkland, WA. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren including Nathaniel, Noah, Sophie, Owen, Ava, Jackson, Zoe, Tessa, Mae, Aiden, Finn, Grayson, and Quinn; his twin brother, Roger Prevey of North Adams, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Prevey.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Rodney Prevey will be held on at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church on Friday May 5, 0017 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery with Military and Police honors.
