Obituary for Armando A. Icardi

Armando A. “Ike” Icardi, 93 of 222 Newell St., Pittsfield passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Hillcrest Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Pittsfield on November 6, 1923 a son of the late Julio and Marcella (Nugai) Icardi. Armando attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1944. He was employed by Walcott’s Auto Body Shop in Pittsfield for a short time and then Marland Mold for several years as a mold maker. Later he co-founded Lakewood Mold and was employed there for 40 years. Afterwards he was employed by Mead Westvaco and retired in 2003. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in WWII. His wife, the former Louise D. Santoro died on April 26, 1995 and they were married on April 26, 1947. Survivors include one son, David Icardi of Pittsfield, four daughters, Marie T. Lacker of Pittsfield, Donna M. Sinopoli of Dalton, Anne M. and Diane L. Icardi both of Pittsfield, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Armando A. "Ike" Icardi will take place Monday, May 8, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating. Those attending are invited to meet at the family plot located in the St. Jude South East Section (on top of the hill). There are no calling hours.
