Obituary for Ronald Romeo Marony

RONALD ROMEO MARONY, 92 of North Adams, MA died on July 9, 2017 at Berkshire medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. He was born in Brookly, NY on April 13, 1925, a son to the late Aldo Alfred and Pauline (Gregory) Marony. He was educated in the North Adams School System. He was a veteran of World WarII serving in the US Navy where he obtained the rank of Seaman First Class. He was last employed in the Highway Department with the City of North Adams, retiring in 1987. He was married to the former Mary Rose Blay. They were married on April 18, 1953. She died on June 5, 2016.
Mr. Marony was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, and a member of the American Legion Post #125. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved camping.
Survivors include his brother, Erman R. Marony of Clarksburg and two sisters, Miss Gloria Marony and Mrs. Harry (Mary) Saunders, both of North Adams. He also leaves nieces and nephews including his Donald Blay who was his primary caregiver.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ronald R. Marony will take place on Thursday, July 13 at 11a.m. in the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning from 9-10:30a.m. at the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall Street, North Adams, MA. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church through the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home.
