Obituary for Nancy Ann Nichols (Tanguay)
Nancy Ann (Tanguay) Nichols 87, of North Adams, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday August 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Williamstown, MA on June 4, 1930, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred (Keefe) Tanguay. Nancy attended schools in North Adams and graduated with the Drury High School Class of 1947. She was employed for several years at the New England Telephone Co. and retired from the Adams Supermarket in 1986. Nancy was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Her many joys included reading, knitting, crocheting, crafting hand-braided rugs, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her family. Nancy will be remembered by all who loved her for her beautiful personality, gentle demeanor, loving ways, and wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to her devoted husband of 67 years, Robert Bruno Nichols, whom she married on October 8, 1949, she is survived by her son, Gary Nichols and wife Phyllis of Medford, NJ, her daughter, Laurie (Nichols) Breda and husband Joseph of Cheshire, CT, her son-in-law, Richard Pellerin of North Adams, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Arthur Tanguay Jr. and wife Doris of North Adams, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nancy was predeceased by her daughter, Judith (Nichols) Pellerin and her brother Neil Tanguay. Nancy will be forever missed.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday August 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Friday from 4-7 pm.
