Alfred Duane Mullett Jr., 83, of Readsboro, Vt. passed away at his winter residence in Zephyrhills, Fl. on August 17.

He was born on April 4, 1934 in Florida, Ma. to the late Alfred and Nettie Mullett. Al graduated from Drury High School.

He was a former member of the Stamford Grange, The Hairpin Turners Sq. Dance Club, The Balance Rock Lodge Masons and the Stamford Community Church.

He served as a former Stamford Vt. Selectman. Prior to his retirement in 2014 he managed The Readsboro General Store. He was an accomplished carpenter and helped build the store and many other projects for family members.

He is survived by his son Steve Mullett (Linda) of Stamford, daughter Barb Martin (Neal) of N. Adams, and daughter Brenda Dente (Tom) of Readsboro. 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Sisters Pearl Mullett and Nancy Bellows of North Adams, brothers William and Earl of Florida, Ma. and Daniel of Adams. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his son Roy Mullett, Priscilla Lawrence Mullett, former spouse, his sister Lena Hurlbut, and brother Kenneth Mullett.

Al was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting with his sons, the Red Sox, bowling, fishing, and boxing. A memorable experience he had was hang gliding at the age of 76.

At his request, there will be no services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
