Robert Manson White, 87, of Williamstown, MA died on Tuesday October 31, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in New Ashford, MA on June 1, 1930 a son of the late Forrest C. and Estella (Nichols) White.
Mr. White attended the New Ashford One Room Schoolhouse, and went on to graduate from Williamstown High School with the class of 1949. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
In his younger years, Mr. White worked on the family farm, White Dairy Farm, located in New Ashford. He went on to work for Sears, Roebuck and Company as a Division Manager in the Pittsfield office, where he was employed for over 40 years.
Mr. White was a member of the White Oaks Congregational Church in Williamstown, and a former member of the Williamstown Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Williamstown American Legion, the Color Guard for Military Honors, the Williamstown Stock Club, as well as the Williamstown Sportsman Club.
Survivors include his wife Barbara (Pierce) White, whom he married on August 6, 1949 at the Williamstown Methodist Church. He also leaves a daughter Terrie M. Traylor and her husband, Tom of Clinton, MA; six grandchildren Bobbiejo Bologna and her husband, Louis; Sarah Derby and her companion, Jason Moore; Darren Derby and his wife, Heather; Daniel Moniz, Cory Moniz, and Valerie Santoro; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister Cecile Love of New Ashford; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Margaret “Meg” Derby, who died on February 15, 2005, as well as his brother Forrest White Jr.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Robert White will be held on Friday November 3, 2017 at 1:30pm at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST Chapel – 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Calling hours will be held the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST Chapel from 11:00am until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA.
