Obituary for Arthur Desire Langlois
Arthur Desire Langlois, 94, of Williamstown, MA died on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his home. He was born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada on January 18, 1923 a son of the late Desire and Doria (Paquin) Langlois.
Mr. Langlois immigrated to the United States at the young age of three. He attended Holy Family School in North Adams. He went on to work for Sprague Electric Company for over 40 years. He was an avid hiker and outdoors enthusiast. He spent his time reading and taking care of his many gardens.
Mr. Langlois was a communicant of Sts. Patrick & Raphael Parish in Williamstown. He was the manager of the Lions Little League team. He was a combat veteran of the Canadian Army, serving in World War II. He received special commendations from the Canadian Army for injuries sustained during combat.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Rita Corine (Champagne) Langlois, whom he married on May 25, 1946 at Notre Dame Church in North Adams. He also leaves daughters Lucille Cahoon; and Susan Langlois, both of Williamstown; sons Paul Langlois and his wife, Jean of Williamstown; and Mark Langlois and his wife, Shari of North Adams; grandchildren Justin and Cayla Cahoon, and Mitchell and Alexx Langlois; as well as a sister Theresa Gorman of Williamstown. He was predeceased by brothers Alfred, William, Joseph, and Emil Langlois; and sisters Blanche Reno, and Emelda Yarter.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Arthur Langlois will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at Sts. Patrick & Raphael Parish, 63 Southworth St., Williamstown, MA 01267. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
