Obituary for Catherine T. Allessio (Bonacquisti)
Catherine T. (Bonacquisti) Allessio, 93, of Pittsfield, MA passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at Craneville Place of Dalton.
She was born in Pittsfield on December 21, 1924, a daughter of the late Mariano and Elizabeth (DeSantis) Bonacquisti. Catherine made her home in Richmond, MA for 42 years and moved back to Pittsfield in 1995. She attended Pittsfield Schools and was employed at the A.H. Rice Corp. for 40 years and retired in 1980. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She enjoyed swimming, tennis and bowling.
Catherine was the widow of William S. Allessio who passed away on February 28, 2007 and they were married on October 1, 1966. Survivors include her three brothers, John H. Bonacquisti and his wife Fannie of Pittsfield, Joseph T. Bonacquisti and his wife Linda of Pittsfield, Anthony Bonacquisti and his wife Therese of West Springfield, three sisters, Antoinette "Bonnie" Mele, Elizabeth Unbehend and her husband Lawrence whom Catherine made her home with, Sandra Lovato and her husband Bruno, all of Pittsfield and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Angelo Bonacquisti.
Funeral Notice: Services will take place Friday, January 19, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, 414 North St., Pittsfield with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling Hours at the funeral home will be Friday Morning, January 19, from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
