Obituary for Laurie Jean Boivin (Schofield)
Laurie Jean (Schofield) Boivin, 48, passed away on January 21, 2018.
Born in Pittsfield on March 4, 1969, she was the daughter of Ruth E. (Hover) and Larry E. Schofield. She was educated in local schools and was a 1987 graduate of Taconic High School. She earned her CNA from Mildred Elley. She was employed at Harry's Supermarket up until their closing in 2012. She was formerly employed at the A.H. Rice for many years prior to that.
On August 12, 1995, she married William M. Boivin.
Amongst her interests, she enjoyed reading Stephen King novels, watching horror movies, and playing Yahtzee. She was an avid football fan; her favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved to bake for her Bousquet family.
Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by her stepchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Carmon, Jerome (Joyce) Boivin and Stacie Boivin, her grandchildren; Ashly Carmon, Isaiah and Savannah Baker; her brother-in-laws, Lenny Boivin and David Boivin; She is also survived by her uncles, John (Gail) Hover, and Reggie (Thelma) Schofield, and her godmother Nancy Demary, along with many cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandparents; Gerald and Virginia Hover, and Norman and Hazel Schofield; her uncles, Richard Hover and Robert Hover and a cousin RJ Hover.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Laurie Boivin will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Pittsfield Cemetery, at 11 A.M. with Rev. Charles Young officiating. A celebration of life will follow after the services at Bousquet. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Laurie Boivin may be made to her family to help defray funeral expenses.
