BARBARA E. DEAN, 80 of North Adams, MA and formerly of Arizona, died on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield, MA. She was born in North Adams, MA on May 31, 1937 a daughter to the late Roger L. and Marion (Alfredo) Dean. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the Class of 1955. She then attended Fitchburg State College and the Burbank Hospital School of Nursing obtaining her RN in 1959. She was a nurse for over 40 years practicing in Arizona for 32 of those years returning to North Adams to be closer to family. She retired in 1999.
Barbara was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church while in North Adams.
Survivors include her sister, Gloria E. Dailey of Pittsfield, MA and two nieces, Caryn Wendling and her husband, Richard of Peru, MA and Janet Dailey of Pittsfield. She also leaves a grand niece and a grand nephew Madelyn and Drew Wendling of Peru. She was predeceased by a sister Lois Dean who died October 17, 2017. She also was predeceased her significant other John Roscoe who died in 2005.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Barbara Dean will be held Monday February 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church 59 Summer St. North Adams, MA. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA.
