Elmer Herbert Kiontke, 93 of Adams, MA died Thursday February 15, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Adams, MA on March 21, 1924 son of Herbert and Elfrieda Esther (Ruhm) Kiontke. He attended schools in Adams and Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1942. Elmer graduated from Bryant College with the class of 1949.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in the US Army in Europe.
Elmer was employed by Berkshire Gas Co. for 31 years until his retirement in 1987. He was an honorary lifetime member of Christian Assembly Church in Pittsfield and attended Northern Berkshire Christian Church since 2013.
His wife was Mary Amelia (Hubbard) Kiontke who died on October 19, 1985. They were married on July 26, 1952.
Survivors include one daughter- Linda Louise Kemp and her husband, Eugene Elliott Kemp of North Adams and one son- Gary Lee Kiontke and his wife, Debi of Clinton, MA. He also leaves four grandchildren including Kevin Kemp, Jeffrey Kemp and his wife Jessica with whom he lived for four years and were his caretakers; Brian Kiontke, and Jessica Kiontke; three great grandchildren- Anna, Ella, Jacob; a sister in law- Gloria Kiontke of CA; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother- Robert Kiontke.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Elmer Kiontke will be Monday February 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Northern Berkshire Christian Church, 55 Harding Ave. North Adams, MA.
