He married Elizabeth Tallarico in 1968 while serving as a National Guardsman and a member of the Lion’s club. He spoke fondly of his years in the guard, the others he served with, and the mischief they got into.
His wife passed March 16, 2014 after a long battle with Dementia during which he was the primary caregiver.
He leaves behind a daughter, Amy Wells of Lowell, her husband Oliver Portillo, a son Wilmarth Wells II of Agawam, nieces, nephews; his brother in law, Robert Tallarico and his wife, Donna; his sister in law- Donna Connors and his adoptive family the Mahers at MRA laboratories.
Greg’s hobbies included the act of Fishing (catching was a different Hobby), bringing his sense of humor to everything he did and always looking for a new restaurant to try or to introduce visitors to his two local favorites: Pedrin’s and Boston Seafood Restaurant. He was an avid camper and enjoyed bringing his cat (Simba) everywhere he went. He enjoyed his tag along camper and spending time exchanging stories by the campfire. He was an expert marshmallow roaster and shared his talent with those he encountered.
