Mary A. (Aleo) Matthews 80 of Pittsfield passed away Wednesday March 28, 2018 at the Hillcrest Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield.
She was born in Pittsfield on September 1, 1937 a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Anna (Rosata) Aleo. Mary attended schools in Pittsfield and was employed at the former Country Curtains Co. in Lee for 11 years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed going to the casinos, cross word puzzles, cooking, baking and loved animals.
Mary his survived by her husband of 63 years William G. Matthews whom she married October 27, 1954. One son Mark J. Matthews and his wife Anna of Pittsfield. A grandson Nicholas J. Matthews of Pittsfield and a brother Benedict Aleo and his wife Elaine of Brewster, MA.
