I am so sorry about the loss of your father. The obituary offers a picture of a kind and dedicated person who had a love for God, life and family. I offer my condolences. As long as we remember his legacy of his good works and loving life, he will live on.

Jim along with wife touched our hearts in so many ways. While attending Orchard Hill Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Especially after the passing of our son Jaden. Our condolences to the family. He will not be forgotten, but remembered until we meet again. Rest in peace Jim.

  Jim deeply touched my heart. I was privileged and moved each week to lead worship with Jim in an environment that touched all the senses.  My soul was often stirred as I listened to him explain the symbols of the faith. I watched with awe as I saw him stir the souls of so many others. I was inspired by his dedication to his ministry and work. I was awed by his pursuit of such a grand vision that went beyond the walls of our local congregation. I was overwhelmed by the multitude of people, of all ages, who stepped forward to be part of his ministry – because he tapped into the artist within them. The untold numbers of people whose lives have been inspired and changed because they have discovered the artist within them is astounding. I truly believe that only now in glory is her beginning to know the number.    But I was moved most because he tapped into the artist within me. I'll never forget the first time he told me that I, too, was an artist. After all, he said, I crafted sermons every week.  I have approached my sermon writing differently ever since.   Jim embodied what it means to be blessed to be a blessing. I count it a privilege to have had him as a valued colleague and a spiritual brother, but mostly to have him as a dear friend. Because he tapped into the artist within me and reached deep into my soul, I am a different and richer person for having ministered with him. I praise God for who he was, for his persevering through good times and tough times, for his giving so much of himself, and above all for being a rich blessing. We are all truly richer. The Church of Jesus Christ is richer. The world is richer. And now heaven is richer too!

Ali, we are so sorry for your loss. We know how much you loved your dad and how hard this time is for you and your family. We are praying for you all. Although we never had the opportunity to meet him personally we know what a wonderful man he was from knowing you. He clearly is a part of who you are. He will forever live in you and through you. My deep sympathies to Ali and her family. Losing a loved one is never easy. The grief can feel overwhelming as you deal with being separated from him. May God's love and comfort flood over your soul as you feel Him hold you close. At this Easter season, because of the resurrection of Jesus, we know that your dad is alive and well in heaven. His place was finally ready for him to go home to be with Jesus.

This man was such a pleasure to be around. He wa such a blessing to me and my daughter. Prayers of comfort for his family and friends.

My love to all of Jim’s family. He re-awakened the creative in all of us. My life is so much richer as a result of his encouragement. He inspired generations of artists, musicians and thespians whereever he was. May he rest in eternal peace and glory.
