He was a Member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church where he was active in the Holy Name Society, serving as President for 6 years and honored as Holy Name Man of the Year in 2004. He also served on the maintenance committee, Parish Advisory Council, as altar Server trainer, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Carmel Church, he joined St. Joseph Parish where he assisted with the food pantry, altar server training for children and adults, Parish Council, and he served at funerals.
He was a super avid fan of the New York Giants football team enthusiastically coaching them from the comfort of his living room recliner.

He has two sons, John and his wife Joyce of Dalton, James and his wife Lisa of South Hadley, and daughter Susan who lives in Birmingham Alabama.
