Obituary for Edward Anthony Poplaski
Edward Anthony Poplaski, 66 of North Adams, MA died peacefully Saturday June 30, 2018 at his home.
He was born in North Adams, MA on August 11, 1951 son of Edward and Esther (Mazza) Poplaski. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1969.
Ed was the self-employed proprietor of County Auto Appraisal for over 41 years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Ed enjoyed cooking, winemaking, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was a diehard New York Yankees baseball fan, and held a lifelong rivalry with his brother in law, friend and nemesis Boston Red Sox fan, John Penna. His two granddaughters were the light of his life. And his beloved dogs – Heidi and Nora, man’s best friend.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie M. (Driscoll) Poplaski whom he married on September 4, 1977 and two daughters – Erin E. Poplaski of North Adams and Mallory P. Lepotakis and her husband, Christopher of Pittsfield, MA and one son – Jeffrey Edward Poplaski of New York, NY. He also leaves two granddaughters – Sydney T. Ciepiela and Sawyer L. Ciepiela; one sister – Judith Poirot and her husband, Charles of Florida, MA; father in law – James J. Driscoll; brothers and sisters in law – James and Sue Driscoll, Judy and Shawn Lampiasi, Joan and John Penna, Jack and Debbie Driscoll and Janice Carnute; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother in law, Patricia Driscoll and brother in law, Russell Carnute.
Ed was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and man. He never wavered on his values, character and integrity. We all take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his lifelong best friend, Wes Primmer. He will be missed by all who knew him.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Edward Poplaski will be celebrated Friday July 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
