Obituary for Elsie Isabel Mailhot (Leonesio)

Elsie Isabel (Leonesio) Mailhot, 90, of Adams, MA died Sunday July 8, 2018 at Williamstown Commons.
She was born in North Adams, MA on July 24, 1927 daughter of John and Teresa (Leonesio) Leonesio. She attended North Adams schools.
Elsie worked at Clark Biscuit Co; McClelland's Store and JJ Newberry before moving to Huntington, Long Island, NY where she lived for 36 years. She later lived in Augusta, Georgia where she worked at the American Greetings Co until moving back to the Berkshires in 2006.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Elsie enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She also enjoyed painting, crafts and making her own greeting cards.
She was the widow of Adelard N. "Ed" Mailhot Jr. who died on April 27, 1992. They were married on August 30, 1947.
Survivors include two daughters- Teresa Detar and her husband, Marvin of Wickliffe, OH and Jacqueline DeGiorgis and her husband, Butch of Adams; and one son, Dr. Jason M. Mailhot and his wife, Renee of Augusta, GA. She also leaves eight grandchildren including Julia Keren-Detar; Emily Detar-Birt; Tyler Mailhot; Travis Mailhot; Samantha Therrien; Travis DeGiorgis; Ella DeGiorgis; and Jennifer Putnam; nine great grandchildren; two brothers including her twin, John Leonesio of Williamstown and Thomas Leonesio of North Adams and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers including Peter Leonesio and John "Buck" Leonesio.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Elsie Mailhot will be celebrated Monday July 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA are Sunday from 4-7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
