Condolence From: Rick Marquis
Condolence: So sorry for your loss Lin. Although he is in a far better place, it is still very difficult to handle. I did not know him. (only met him once or twice) However, I knew that he was a wonderful caring man with a strong moral compass. He obviously raised two girls very well. I hope that your Mom will be able to make the transition of not having him in her life. That burden will fall both on you and Anne to help her with that transition. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Please take comfort in the fact that he had a long wonderful life. He touched and molded many young lives. I'm sure that his legacy and memory will live on through all of the halls of the new Mt Greylock. Take comfort in knowing that... Love Rick

Condolence: Sad to hear that Ed passed on. He was a friend of mine from early days of his being a principal at Mount Greylock High School. I was on the school committee when he was named assistant principal. Over the years we became personal friends and was honored to be godfather for one of his children.

Condolence: Words can’t express the impact Mr. Filiault had on me. Even when I would run into him as an adult- he would tell me to call him Ed, and I would reply: “Ok Mr Filiault!”. The man earned my most deepest respect. From all the times I’d see him in school, to the trips that were made to watch us play softball, I have so many fantastic memories of him that even at this sad time, I have to smile and feel the warmth of his awesome hugs. Please know what a 1 of a kind man he will always be remembered as. He and my father will be keeping a watch over us all.

Condolence: It is heartening to know that Mr. Filiault's gift as a educator was handed down to his daughter, Linda. She was my son's third grade teacher and made a lasting impact. In a world where people are quick to fit kids into categories she did not do that and celebrated his uniqueness. It sounds like she took after her dad! My condolences, and gratitude, to the family.

Condolence: Both of my parents met Bud and Janet when all four of them worked at the Boston Store. Bud's kind and generous nature made an impact on our family for many years. We grew up with the Filliaults and even though we weren't neighbors we would visit our friends often. Bud liked to joke around and he got pleasure out of making us laugh. I remember his sparkly eyes and his sunny personality which brought light into every room he entered. Bud and Janet you brought a lot of Love into this world. Thanks for sharing it with all of us! Wishing you healing and Love Jan, Ann and Linda. xo Leslie

Condolence: Dear Janet, Ann, Linda, and grandchildren, My heart goes out to you today. It is such a sad time for a beautiful family. I am so happy I had the opportunity to meet Ed as my Dad's roommate at Wmst Commons. He was a gentleman and a scholar with a wit that had me laughing in the worst of circumstances. I so appreciated him. The obituary I read today was just beautiful. What a life well-lived Ed had. He impacted so many lives as is clear through the other condolences left here. I shall miss seeing Ed down on Unit 3 where my mother is, but he is at peace now. I'm glad I was able to say good-bye. My husband and I are thinking of you all and sending our most sincere condolences. XO, Diane

Condolence: So sorry to hear Mr. Filiault has passed. He was part of a golden era, in my mind, in public education. The call was to hear the voice of all kids and to determine how to help---and Ed did.
