Obituary for Eileen Noella Boyer

Eileen Noella (Boyer) Boyer, 86, of Williamstown, MA died on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on December 22, 1931 in Williamstown, MA to the late Armand and Irene (Chenail) Boyer. Eileen was united in marriage to Donald J. Boyer on September 13, 1952 in St Raphael church in Williamstown. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2005. They were married for 52 blissful years and Eileen lived in the family homestead for over sixty years.
Eileen attended Williamstown schools, and graduated from Williamstown High School with the Class of 1950. In her younger years, she was employed at the Gaevert Co., and later the Cornish Wire Co. both in Williamstown, until her marriage to her late husband, Donald. She went on to raise and care for her family, and was a devoted wife and loving mother. During this time, Eileen chose to be a stay at home Mom providing in-home child care to young children of the education community in Williamstown. After raising her three sons, in the early ‘70s, Eileen returned to the workplace working her way through the ranks to become the head bank teller at the Williamstown National Bank. She enjoyed working with the public and was adept at working through the challenges of new banking technologies. She retired in 1993.

She was a communicant of Sts. Patrick & Raphael Parish in Williamstown, where she was actively involved as a member of the finance committee, the church bazaar, and the Parish Council. Eileen was also an active sports mom and served as a member of the Booster Club at Mt. Greylock High School, and always cheered her boys on in baseball, football, and basketball.

After her retirement Eileen enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod, in Maine, Florida, Las Vegas, and Arizona. She and Donald also traveled often to Boston and Foxboro to see the Red Sox and Patriots play. She loved gambling at the casinos and attending musical theatre performances and her outings with the "hobbleens".
Eileen was a good cook and hosted many family gatherings on holidays and at summer picnics.

Survivors include her sons; Paul Boyer and his partner Sean Joyce of North Adams, MA; David
Boyer and his wife, Laurie of Hancock, MA; and Robert Boyer of Stamford, VT; two grandchildren Kale Boyer and Chelsea Boyer Tovar; two step-grandchildren Erin Boyer; and Kristin Giulino; great granddaughter Chloe Boyer; brother Willis Boyer and his wife, Claire of Williamstown, MA; sister Priscilla Palmer and her husband, Charles of Pownal, VT; her dear neighbors of over fifty years LariAnn and William Noyes and caring friend Dee Garnish; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
