Obituary for Dale Perkins Ott

Dale Perkins Ott, 67 of Clarksburg, MA died Tuesday August 21, 2018 at his home.
He was born in North Adams, MA on July 5, 1951 son of Ann (Perkins) Ott and the late Norman Edwin Ott. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. Dale grew up changing tires and helping his parents at Brewer-Perkins in North Adams. He attended the Boston University College of Pharmacy and then completed the operating room technician post graduate course at McCann Technical High School.
Dale worked at North Adams Regional Hospital and as an EMT with the former Hopkins Ambulance Service. He then received his degree in nursing from Excelsior College, becoming a nurse at North Adams Regional Hospital and also at the Cataract Eye Center and the Brien Center. Dale assisted the Northern Berkshire Orthopedic Surgeons in the OR and casting. He also taught nursing at Mildred Elley and tried his hand at plumbing with his father in law at John D. Haig Plumbing and Heating.
Dale and his wife operated the Clarksburg Bread Company from 1982 until 1997. He enjoyed music and played the stand-up bass with several area musicians and the "Flying Garbanzos"; "Coyote Radio"; "Ladies Auxiliary Ukulele Orchestra"; "MoCA Jam" and "The Risky Ramblers" bands. Dale raised horses and participated in wagon-trains and enjoyed farming his property in Clarksburg.
Survivors include his mother, Ann (Perkins) Ott of Williamstown and his wife, Jamie (Haig) Ott whom he married on November 19, 1977. He also leaves two sisters- Sharyn Pudvar and her husband, John of Vero Beach, FL and Sharman Devaney and her husband, David of Annapolis, MD; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
