Obituary for Evelyn Gooch (Mossolani)

Evelyn (Mossolani) Gooch, 101, of North Adams passed away peacefully on Saturday October 6, 2018.
Born in North Adams on May 4, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Evelina (Leclair) Mossolani. Evelyn graduated from Drury High School in 1934.
She worked at Gale Shoe Co. where she met her future husband, Anthony (Tony). They were married in St. Anthony's Church on November 24, 1938. Tony died in 1989. Evelyn worked at Sprague Electric and Sprague Products until it closed in 1985.
She was a member of many clubs over the years. Nearest to her heart was the Friends of the North Adams Public Library where she served as secretary for many years. The Friends honored her dedication and loyalty by bestowing on her a lifetime honorary membership in 2005. Reading was a very important part of Evelyn's life. She instilled this into her children from their early years and passed that on to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Evelyn always had an artistic flair and when she retired she pursued painting as a hobby. The family cherishes her artwork and the personalization she put into each piece.
Evelyn leaves behind her daughters, Judith Lowe of Austin, TX and Lynne Blake of North Adams. Daughter Janice passed away in 2011. She leaves grandchildren, Jennifer Blake of Leonardtown, MD; Ward Lowe of Austin, TX and Christopher Blake of Flemington, NJ. Grandson Anthony Rapps passed away in 2015. She will be greatly missed by her great grandchildren, Blake Meyer of Leonardtown, MD, Carly Blake of Flemington, NJ and Alex and Fiona Lowe of Austin, TX.
She was predeceased by her sons in law Edward L. Lowe and Edward E. Blake; her grandson in law, Timothy Meyer and siblings Daniel Mossolani, Emma H. Jobin and Ruth Graziola.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Evelyn Gooch will be celebrated Friday October 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Patrick and Raphael Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
