Brian Michael Simard 26, of North Adams died Thursday November 15, 2018 as a result of a fatal accident while working on a Massachusetts Turnpike project.
He was born in North Adams on August 17, 1992 a son of Michael Richard Simard and Susan Maryann (Oliver) Simard. Brian was a graduate of Drury High School where he was a member of the soccer and track teams. He loved jet skiing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking and fishing with his father. He was employed at J.H. Maxymillian Co. since 2015 and was promoted to foreman. Brian also was a member of the Laborer's International Union of North America Local #473. Survivors include his parents Michael and Susan (Oliver) Simard with whom he made is home, a sister Breanna Allyse Simard of North Adams, paternal grandparents Richard and Christina (Vackas) Simard of North Adams, his girlfriend Kelsey Gardner of North Adams and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday November 21, 2018 at 11AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams are Tuesday November 20, 2018 from 4-7 PM.
