Obituary for Loretta Mary "Lori" Sheehy (Hebert)

Loretta Mary Sheehy, 88, of Williamstown, MA, passed away peacefully December 1, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in New Marlborough, MA to the late Roslyn Viola and Henry Hebert, she grew up on Lake Buel where her parents owned Hebert’s Beach Motel and her father built many of the cottages. She graduated from Searles High School in 1948. After she married, she moved to Stewart Manor, NY and raised her children there. She later moved back to Gt. Barrington where she worked at the Berkshire School and Bob’s Deli. Upon retirement she moved to Williamstown where she continued to be a big fan of the Williams College men’s basketball team, coached by her son, Harry. She loved running Harry’s basketball camp store, where she was not particularly concerned with revenue (lucky kids!) Her sense of humor, incredible work ethic and delicious cooking were her hallmarks.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Gloria Barbieri, and her longtime companion, Arthur Lotten. She is survived by her children Harry Sheehy and his wife, Connie, of Hanover, NH, Sarah Steel and her husband, Robert, of Harvey, LA, and Lorraine Love and her husband, Ronald, of Sandisfield, MA, in addition to grandchildren Robert and Daniel Love. We are so grateful to the Baxter Unit staff at Sweetbrook in Williamstown for their loving care of her the last ten years as she slipped away from us with Alzheimer’s disease.

There will be no services. Donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Flynn& Dagnoli Home for Funerals, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, MA 01247. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com
