George Sanford Johnson, 69, of North Adams, MA died on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on July 19, 1947 a son of the late Harry S. and Ruth (Warner) Johnson.
George lived in Becket, MA during his younger years, and attended Becket schools, as well as Wahconah and Pittsfield High School. He worked for several paper companies over the years, lastly with Crown Vantage. He later worked for Cascade until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing cribbage.
George leaves his wife Teresa M. (Sears) Johnson, whom he married on May 17, 1969 in Williamstown, MA. He also leaves two daughters, Christine and Sherry Johnson of North Adams; two sons, Daniel and James Johnson of North Adams; three sisters, Virginia Plude of Pittsfield, Marsha Sarno of Ashley Falls, MA, and Priscilla Klien of Huntington, MA; two brothers, Harry D. Johnson of White River Junction, VT, and Joseph Johnson of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He also leaves his best friend for years Robert Rogers, as well as Emily Collette. He was predeceased by his brother Jerry A. Johnson, and his grandson Nickolas Burdick.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service to celebrate the life of George Johnson will be held on Thursday February 23, 2017 at 2PM at Southview Cemetery in North Adams, MA. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from noon - 1:45PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes – WEST Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA.
