Obituary for Priscilla May Northup (Windover)

Priscilla May (Windover) Northup, widow of William H. Northup, mother of William H. Northup, Jr. and Lisa of Burlington, Vermont and Susan E. Pedercini of Williamstown, grandmother of Nicole E. Pedercini of Williamstown and William H. Northup III of Burlington, Vermont died Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the Williamstown Commons.
Born at 16 Freeman Avenue in North Adams on May 24, 1924 to Fred A. Windover and Mildred (Knuckey) Windover. Graduated from Drury High School where she wrote the class song.
Always proud of her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and other extended family and enjoyed family reunions at Camp Ashmere.
She married Bill Northup on August 17, 1946 in Williamstown at the United Methodist Church (now New Hope United Methodist Church), where she was a member for more than 65 years. She held many offices in her Church, including Sunday School Superintendent for some 15 to 20 years. She was active in Town affairs, most recently efforts to preserve the Lowry Property on Stratton Road. She also enjoyed automobile trips with Bill’s sister, Bertha, and her husband, Dick, to Amish Country and to Virginia to visit Bill’s sister, Ruth, and her family.
Worked for 15 years as secretary to the Director of Personnel at the Sprague Electric Company, Marge’s Gift Shop, the Williamstown Medical Associates, and Thomas McMahon and Son.
She leaves a sister, Marcia MacGillivray and her husband, Don, of Martha’s Vineyard. She was pre-deceased by six other siblings, Henry A. Windover and his wife, Helen, Fred B. Windover and his wife, Rita, Virginia C. Spencer and her husband Arthur, Jane A. Ward, and her husband John T. Ward, Robert E. Windover, and Edward K. Windover.
She also leaves many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Richard N. Young of Hancock, husband of the late Bertha Young, and his wife Rosemary, and three sisters-in-law Marcia Windover of Omaha, Nebraska, and Marilyn Ward of Mayville, New York, and Charlotte Brand and her husband, Bill, of Covington, Georgia.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Priscilla Northup will take place Saturday March 11, 2017 at 1pm at the First Baptist Church of North Adams, Ma. with the Rev’s Daniel and Courtney Randall of the New Hope United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested for the New Hope United Methodist Church or the Berkshire Food Project through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA.
