Obituary for Shirley Avis Mills (Field)

Shirley A. (Field) Mills, 88, of Williamstown, MA, and formerly of Stamford, VT, died on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at her home. She was born in North Adams, MA on February 4, 1929 a daughter of the late Perry and Muriel (Fetridge) Field.
She attended schools in Williamstown, and graduated from Williamstown High School in 1946. She was employed at North Adams Regional Hospital as an EKG Technician, and for many years after that, she worked as an assistant for Dr. Roger Gould. She started Sam’s Antique & Collectable at her home in Stamford, VT.
Survivors include four daughters Lynne Ryan of Williamstown, Wendy L’Heureux of Ocala, California, Beth Schmehl of Williamstown, and Tala Neathawk of Stamford, VT; two sons Gary Formhals of Whidbey Island, Washington, and Ross Gazzaniga formerly of Williamstown, MA; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother Sheldon “Pete” Field of North Adams.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Shirley Mills will take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00AM at the Second Congregational Church in Williamstown, MA. A calling hour will be held at the church from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery in Williamstown.
