Obituary for Antonina Frances "Nina" St. Pierre (Matranga)

Antonina Frances "Nina" (Matranga) St. Pierre, 98 of North Adams, MA died Monday April 24, 2017 at her home.
She was born in North Adams, MA on October 9, 1918, daughter of Angelo and Rosina (Guidera) Matranga. She attended local schools.
Nina was primarily a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her early years, she worked at Sprague Electric Co. and she also operated "Nina's Pizzeria" on State Street in North Adams from 1965 to 1968. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Nina enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.
She was the widow of Norman J. St. Pierre who died on April 22, 1965. They were married on June 21, 1940.
Survivors include- two daughters- Genevieve O'Neill and her husband Charles of Stamford, VT and Annette Guerino and her husband Steven of North Adams and three sons- Norman J. St. Pierre Jr and his wife, Rosalyn of Wilmington, NC; Dennis St. Pierre and his wife, Barbara of Adams, and David St. Pierre and his wife, Patricia of Southwick, MA. She also leaves eleven grandchildren including James Piantoni, Jennifer DeFazio, Norman St. Pierre, Jillian St. Pierre, Lindsay McGinnis, Michael St. Pierre, Robert May Jr., Stephen May, Jack Guerino, Paul Guerino, and Vito Guerino; and eleven great grandchildren; and one sister- Mary F. Matranga of North Adams; her cousin, Madeline Cuccia; and nieces and nephews. Her son, Paul St. Pierre died in 1977 and three brothers and one sister are deceased including Jennie Matranga, Vito Matranga, Stephen Matranga, and Joseph Matranga.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Nina St. Pierre will be celebrated Thursday April 27, 2017 at 9:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521West Main St. North Adams, MA are Wednesday from 5-7 PM.
