Obituary for Richard Joesph Hynes

MR. RICHARD JOSEPH HYNES, 76 of 45 Spring Street North Adams, MA died Thursday May 17, 2012 at his home.
He was born in North Adams, MA on January 14, 1936, son of Clayton and Gertrude (Shields) Hynes. Mr. Hynes attended schools in North Adams served in the US Marines. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, and served in the US Marines. He was last employed by Art Johnson Concrete Forming in New Ashford for approximately 20 years until the time of his retirement in 1998.
Mr. Hynes was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and was a member of the Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and North Adams Elks. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf.
He is survived by his former wife, Mary Lou Hynes of North Adams, MA; one son, Col. Michael Hynes, US Army, of Alexandria, VA; and two daughters, Maureen Louise Hynes and Jayne Lavariere, both of North Adams, MA. Mr. Hynes also leaves three grandchildren, Gary Lavariere, Joshua Hynes and Carrie Hynes. He is predeceased by a brother Thomas Hynes and a sister, Patricia Razzano.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Richard J. Hynes will be Monday May 21, 2012 at 10:15 AM from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL 74 Marshall St. North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Following cremation, burial will take place in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA on Wednesday, May 23 at 3:00 PM. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 2-4 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
