Obituary for Jack A. Vincent

Jack Arnold Vincent, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the arms of his beloved wife. Born in Pittsfield on May 30, 1935, son of the late Chandler and Rachel (Wilson) Vincent, he was a 1953 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Jack was a Proud United States Marine Veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict. Girardi Distributors also employed him as a beverage sales manager until his retirement in 1994. Lovingly known throughout Berkshire County as "the Bud Man", Jack touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness, generosity and humor. After his retirement, he continued to work with the public at the Pontoosuc Golf Course for several years. Jack was a true gentleman who loved his family dearly. His passions were golf, carpentry and making his wife, children and grandchildren smile. Jack leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Josephine Catherine (Costello) Vincent. He is also survived by his loving family; son, David Vincent; daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Jeffrey Laurin; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kristin Vincent; grandchildren, Meaghan, Jeffrey, Abbey, Ian, Jackson; great granddaughter Haleigh; siblings, Beverly Adams, Marjorie Wheeler and Gary Vincent and also leaves many extended family members and dear friends including Fr. Richard MacDonald, SCJ and Jack O'Brien, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Jack was pre-deceased by two children, baby John and Kathleen Rawson; sister, Jean Sharp; brother, Chandler Vincent Jr. and longtime friend and fellow marine, James Wheeler Sr. The family wishes to thank the staff at both Craneville Place of Dalton and Berkshire Medical Center for their loving, compassionate care of their beloved husband and father. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Jack A. Vincent will be Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. A Liturgy of Cchristian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Church, 89 Briggs Avenue, Pittsfield with the Rev. Richard MacDonald SCJ officiating. Burial will be private.
