Obituary for John Thomas England Jr.

John T. England Jr. passed peacefully on November 4th, 2017 while surrounded by family at home in Williamstown, MA. Though he fought a trying medical battle over the last two years, John’s humor, charisma, and courageous character never faded.
John was born on February 24th, 1962. He grew up in White Plains, NY with his mother, Adelaide, and father, John Sr., along with two older sisters, Karen and Kim. John would move at age 10 and later attended Mount Greylock Regional High School when he and his family relocated to Williamstown, MA. After high school, John was accepted into flight school and completed his training as a commercial pilot. He would later acquire many other impressive accomplishments, such as being a Bennington VT Deputy Sheriff, a skilled carpenter, a Nantucket Firefighter, and an outstanding entrepreneur.
John spent many summers on Nantucket, where he met his wife and best friend, Angie. Together they lived there for many years, sharing a love of the ocean and enjoying the beauty of Nantucket Island. They would later move to Williamstown and create the Berkshires staple, Hot Tomatoes, which still thrives today thanks to their dedication and hard work. John and Angie have three wonderful sons; Matthew, Nikolas and Riley, who all share the same love for Nantucket and treasure the many memories that have been created there. Each son has inherited their father’s craftsmanship and skills; Matthew now operates and manages Hot Tomatoes, while also expanding the business into many new ventures. He shares John’s passion for flying, something they would sit and talk about for hours on end. Nikolas shares John’s talent to repair and reconstruct, as can be seen through his ability to build entire computers. Riley, who now lives on Nantucket, is a skilled carpenter and builder just as many know John to be.
John is survived by much family that he loved; His wife Angie and three sons his mother Adelaide England, his sisters, Karen and Kim, along with their spouses, Paul and Michael; his nephews, Evan, Taylor, and Henry; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Brian, along with their son, Bryan Jr.; his brother-in-law, Anthony, and his children; his stepmother, Patricia, as well as her five sons, his cousin and good friend, Peter, along with his wife and daughter, Amy and Ella; his uncles, Carl and Peter Sr.
John will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, an admirable father, and a generous friend. His character was truly that of someone who is noble and selfless. There will be no funeral, but rather a celebration of John amongst family and dear friends. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.
