Obituary for Donald Henry Kleiner

Donald Henry Kleiner, 87 of Williamstown, MA died Saturday December 16, 2017 at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility.
He was born in Adams, MA on October 24, 1930 son of Henry and Elsie (Geisler) Kleiner. He attended the Adams High School.
Donald was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Army as an Official Army Photographer.
He was last employed by the Berkshire Eagle as a delivery person. Donald was a longtime swim coach at the Northern Berkshire YMCA and the Pittsfield YMCA Polar Bears. He also served as an assistant swim coach at Lenox High School. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown.
Donald was a member of American Legion Post #152 in Williamstown and the Williamstown Grange. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was Past Master of the Williams Lodge of Masons. Donald was also a member of the Berkshire Shrine Club; Cairo Shriners of Rutland, VT; and Melha Shriners of Springfield.
Donald enjoyed attending his daughter's swim meets and was the team photographer. He was a Red Sox and Braves baseball fan and Patriots and Giants football fan. He was an avid bird-watcher and enjoyed feeding birds. He was loved by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Rose (Cone) Kleiner whom he married on November 7, 1970 and three daughters- Kriste Lynne Kleiner of Pittsfield; Karen Witek and her husband, Matthew and Donna Bednarczyk, both of Adams; and one son- Donald Kevin Drawec of Savoy. He also leaves ten grandchildren including Logan, Ashley. Matthew, Casey, Noah, Jasmine, Amber, Alyse, Kevin and Jayde; nine great grandchildren; two sisters- Betty Pyra of North Adams and Gladys Montgomery of Cheshire; two brothers- Kenneth Kleiner of New Hampshire and Norman Kleiner of Adams and nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Donald Kleiner will be Wednesday December 20, 2017 at 7:00 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 5-7 PM. Graveside services with veteran's honors will be Friday December 22 at 2PM at Eastlawn Cemetery.
