Leo Arthur Benoit Jr., 80, of Adams, MA, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in North Adams, MA on October 3, 1937 a son of the late Leo Arthur Benoit and Elizabeth (Gifford) Benoit Alderman.
Leo attended schools in North Adams. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He was last employed by W.R. Grace where he worked for 25 years, until his retirement. He also worked at Wall-Streeter Shoe Co.
Leo was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in North Adams. He was also a longtime member of the former Adams Hound and Hunt Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Martha Ruth (Tankersley) Benoit, whom he married on April 5, 1957. He also leaves two daughters Connie Tifft of Clarksburg; and Christel Massaconi of Cheshire; three sons Leo A. Benoit III and Randall Benoit, both of North Adams; and Kenneth Benoit of Clarksburg; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister Rachel Dupre of Williamstown; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Sylvia Gouger, and his brother Orville Benoit.
At his request there will be no funeral services.
