Myrna (Lavanway) Harvey, 84, formerly of Clarksburg, MA died on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Stamford, VT, where she has resided for the last 2 ½ years. She was born in North Adams, MA on August 26, 1933 a daughter of the late Harold Ervin and Earlene Bessie (Bowen) Lavanway.
Myrna attended schools in Monroe Bridge, MA, and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1951. She went on to work for Sprague Electric, where she was employed for 33 years until her retirement in 1984.
Myrna was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Adams. She was an avid gardener, and was known for sending cards to people.
Survivors include her husband Donald Harvey, whom she married on May 1, 1954 in the First Baptist Church in Readsboro, VT. She also leaves her daughters Donna Louise Garlin and her husband, John of Stamford, VT; and Kathi Marie Lampron and her husband, Daniel of North Adams, MA; grandchildren Alyssa Marie Beebe and Jennifer Leigh Zahensky; six great grandchildren Olivia, Cameron, Avery, Chandler, Ginessa, and Jaxon; two sisters Alta Wood of Sun City West, AZ and Sandra Goodermote of Monroe, MA; one brother Harold Bowen Lavanway of Readsboro, VT; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Bernice Polucci.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Myrna Harvey will take place on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in North Adams, MA. Burial will take place in the spring at Clarksburg Cemetery.
