Obituary for Carlotta A. "Carla" Virgilio (Sacchetti)

Carla (Carlotta) Ann Virgilio, age 70 of Pittsfield, Ma passed away on March 28th, 2018 at Williamstown Commons where she had been resting following a short illness. She was born in Pittsfield, Ma on May 18, 1947 to her beloved parents Carlo and Rose (Sacco) Sacchetti. She was the oldest of 3 children.
She attended Pittsfield High School class of 1965, after which she went on to attain her degree in cosmetology. Carla also earned a certification as a teachers’ aide and worked in the Pittsfield school system for a number of years. Carla took interest in jewelry design while working in a local Jewelry store. She was also employed as a hairdresser for many years until she took over ownership of Jonez Beauty Supply and renaming it Midtown Beauty Supply.
She was known for her bright smile and friendly demeanor towards the people around her. She was a caring, loving, and devoted mother to her 3 children. She loved to read, draw, sew, and spend time with the closest of friends.
Carla was predeceased by her parents and her youngest sister Regina Sacchetti. She is survived by her sister Rosalie (Sacchetti) Boyer of Connecticut, and her 3 children, Donald Virgilio of Reno, NV, Janelle Virgilio of Pittsfield, MA, and JoAnna Virgilio of Pittsfield, MA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Bradley Brown, Maxamillian Vilot, Natalia Virgilio, Railani Virgilio, Angelle Virgilio, and Kenadee Virgilio, who meant the world to her.
Carla’s family would love to extend their deepest gratitude towards all staff at Albany Medical Center (neurosciences division), Hospice Care in the Berkshires, and Williamstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Carla (Carlotta) Ann Virgilio will take place Thursday April 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 with the Rev. Joan Carron officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
