Ruth Ginsburg died unexpectedly on June 27 at the age of 69. Born in Adams, she graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School and went on to attend Simmons College in Boston. Her early working years were in retail and she later moved on to philanthropic service. She was well known for providing education and services for women who had experienced domestic abuse.

She suffered with a chronic illness for the last fifteen years of her life. The family would like to thank those who helped provide for her care during this time.

She is survived by her brother Michael and his wife Sally, her niece Jillian Palash and her husband Ross, and her nephew Elliot and his wife Laura.

A private burial will be followed by a memorial service at Congregation Beth Israel in North Adams, MA at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 1.
