Obituary for Ivis Geraldine Lewis (Daniels)

Ivis Geraldine (Daniels) Lewis, 103, of North Adams, MA died Wednesday September 26, 2018 at North Adams Commons.
She was born in North Adams, MA on April 17, 1915 a daughter of Arthur H. and Bernice C. (McIntyre) Daniels. She attended the former Houghton school and graduated from Drury High School in 1934. She later attended Bliss Business College.
She was married to Stafford W. Lewis on March 12, 1935. He died 49 years later on November 25, 1984.
Ivis retired from the Advertising Department of Sprague Electric in 1978 after working there for 42 years. During the war she worked part time at Daniels Linen Shop for her father.
Mrs. Lewis was a life member and the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of North Adams where she sang in the choir and was involved with its youth groups. She was a member of the Sprague Retirees and Sprague Quarter Century Club.
She leaves two daughters-Marcia A. Donega and her husband, Carl of Adams, MA; and Jane E. Skeie and her husband, Daniel of Lempster, NH; five grandchildren- Ryan Skeie of China; Heather Castillo and Kirsten Sykes of Lempster, NH; Karen Nunez of Libertyville, IL; and Stephanie Kawa of East Greenwich, RI; and eight great grandchildren- Luis Nunez III; Tamara Nunez; Evan Kawa; Haley Sykes; Sadie Sykes; Lily Sykes; Ana Castillo; and Ari Castillo. She also leaves a sister Eleanor E. Brown of Bennington, VT; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters- Dorothy Whitehead; Constance Daniels; Arthur H. Daniels, Jr.; William Stuart Daniels and Gerald T. Daniels. The family would like to thank the staff of the North Adams Commons for their care and compassion.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Ivis Lewis will be Monday October 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. A calling hour AT THE CHURCH will be Monday from 10-11 AM.
