Margaret R. Marby, 98, of The Landing at Laurel Lake, Lee, MA, formerly of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018.
Margaret was born November 15, 1919 in New York, the first daughter to the late Ralph and Rose Bianco. She was raised in Pittsfield, MA where she had been a lifelong resident and was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Margaret worked for England Brothers for many years and also for Berkshire Medical Hospital. She enjoyed her trips to Italy with her sisters; making “pasta sauce” for her friends and family; talking to her many friends and family on the phone and best of all, loving her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She initiated the first Parent Teacher Association at Stearns School. Margaret was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church in Pittsfield.
Margaret was predeceased by her former husband, Frank Marby; her daughter Christine Marby DaSilva and her siblings, Francis Bianco, Elizabeth Lynch and Mary Welle.
She is survived by her daughters: Kathleen Burton and husband Donald of Churchville, NY; Carol Baxter and husband Larry of Quechee, VT; her six grandchildren: AJ McGovern and his wife Maura of Medford, MA; Shenna Gianetta and her husband Allen of Danvers, MA; Kathleen Maxon and her husband Timothy of Groton, NY; Audra Beth Burton Kean of Holden, MA and her former husband, Nicholas; Aaron Burton and his wife Reggie of Webster, NY; Alicia O’Brocta and her husband Brad of Churchville, NY and by thirteen great grandchildren: Siobhan and Conor McGovern; Matthew and Elizabeth Gianetta; Paige Maxon; Owen, Sarah, and Nigel Kean; Ava, Cole and Elise Burton and Nolan and Maria O’Brocta. She leaves her sister, Theresa Viscuso of La Jolla, CA and her brother, Peter Bianco of Webster, Florida. In addition to immediate family, Margaret is survived by “adopted granddaughter”, Santhiny Rajamohan and her family of Spencerport, NY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Barbara Allen, Patricia DeGroat and Philip Viscuso who were extremely helpful in her care and her longtime loyal friend, Vito Ronco. The family would like to thank her wonderful loving caregiver, Mary Jane Henry and the staff at The Landing at Laurel Lake for their kindness, devoted care and attention given to Margaret.
