Obituary for Georgette Elizabeth Maloney Mancuso (Britt)

Georgette Elizabeth (Britt) Maloney Mancuso, 93, of North Adams, Mass., died on Monday, December 10, 2018 at her daughter’s home in East Longmeadow, Mass.
She was born in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, Canada on May 1, 1925 to Henry P. and Laurea (Boisclair) Britt. Georgette came to the United States when she was two months old. She graduated from Brownville Junction High School and the University of Maine – Farmington. She later earned her master’s degree from MCLA.
Georgette taught at Drury High School in North Adams for over 30 years. She was head of the home economics department for much of that time and after retirement she substitute taught in the languages department for another seven years.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a member of its Rosary Society. Georgette was very active in her community as a member of Le Cercle Francais, the League of Women Voters, the Monday Club, the Bridge Club at the Spitzer Center, and a member of TRIAD. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her watercolor paintings. Georgette was the widow of Peter V. Mancuso who died on February 25, 2000, and C. Richard Maloney who died on September 22, 1965.
Survivors include her children Maureen (Roger) Kellman and John (Kris) Maloney; daughter-in-law Debbie Maloney; stepchildren Marie (Harry) Cromwell, Cynthia (Mark) Vadnais, Tina (Steve Buynicki) Mancuso, Peter (Janet) Mancuso and Roberta (Paul) Senecal; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Jeanette Gravelin who died in February 1996 and her son Paul R. Maloney who died in September 2015.


FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Georgette Maloney Mancuso will be celebrated on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
