Obituary for Gloria J. Gamache (Martin)

Gloria J. (Martin) Gamache, 84 of Dover, NH and formerly of North Adams died Wednesday January 9, 2019 at Williamstown Commons with her family by her side after a short illness.
She was born in Adams, MA on January 29, 1934 daughter of Dennis and Lillian (Sirard) Martin. She attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Notre Dame Parochial School in North Adams. She also studied nursing at Joliet Junior College in Joliet, IL
Gloria worked as a caregiver out of her own home for about twenty years until her retirement. Before that, she worked at Arnold Print Works and as a receptionist for the late Dr. George Mullen.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Gloria loved caring for people, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, former North Adams Police Chief Kenneth Paul Gamache whom she married on February 1, 1951 and two daughters- Debra L. Norcross and her husband, William H. of North Adams and Krista M. Lomartire and her husband, Adam K. of Dover, NH. She also leaves four grandchildren- Beth N. Choquette and her husband, Jamie G. of Cheshire; William K. Norcross and his wife Celia R., of Adams; Chelsea B. Lomartire and Alex K. Lomartire, both of Dover, NH; and five great grandchildren- Jacob W. Keplinger, Evan W. Norcross, Jackson H. Keplinger, Tyler J. Norcross, and Drew C. Norcross; and several nieces and nephews including Barbara Gomeau, Patty Demers and Charles Demers and his wife, Susan. She was predeceased by infant twins Dennis and Kenneth and by her sister and best friend, Madeline Demers.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Gloria Gamache will be celebrated Monday January 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Sunday from 4-7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Masses in her memory or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, an organization that was dear to her heart in care of the funeral home.
