So very sorry to hear of this. When I was a teenage hippie kid I put a down payment on a VW Bus that was supposed to be refurbished by a guy up in Vermont. Months passed and he kept making excuses that it was going to take more time, couldn’t get parts etc. When Jack heard about this he took me and his son Keith up there and Jack had a quick chat with the guy. Needless to say, I had my $500 deposit in hand within 15 minutes and we were on our way back to MA. Probably didn’t hurt that Jack was wearing his Deputy Sheriff’s uniform! That’s the type of man Jack was. Always looking out and willing to help someone else. I have been best friends with his son Keith since I was a kid and was friends and a former co-worker with his daughter Missy for 15 years. They both should be proud to have been able to have someone like Jack as their Father. People like Jack are rare these days. You both were very fortunate to have someone like that in your lives. Sending Love & Light to the whole family from Charleston, SC.

To Carmela and the rest of the family, we are very sorry for your loss. Jack is one of the most kind and caring people I have ever met. As far back as I can remember, he was always there for his family, ready to lend any hand, words of encouragement or a great one-liner. My father, his cousin, Dominick cared deeply for him and came to rely on him for many things later in life and our family is forever grateful for that. Hopefully they can watch a few soccer games together again.
Love, Aaron, Ali, Ethan and Max.

Jack and I would always get into it on Facebook about politics and poke jabs back and forth but in the end, we always ended it with a laugh. Jack was always hopping online first thing in the morning with a "good morning", time stamped post. I'll miss those.

I'll forever remember the first time we met; the firm handshake and big smile. It was a meeting that had been long overdue. Kayla and I flew up and when Jack came into Missy's house, the whole place lit up. The joy the man brought to the room as astonishing.

Jack, my friend, thank you for letting me know you. Thank you for all of your likes on my posts, and even though we were 1,300 miles apart, I always knew I had a friend in the Berkshires.

Rest easy my friend,
Jake
