I was always embraced by Cheryl’s spirit of graciousness & beauty. Her strength was her love for her sons & family. I will always remember when she came to visit us in New Mexico how she embraced the beauty of the Gila National Wilderness landscape with enthusiasm & abundance of energy.. her joy was so deliberate. She was so kind & full of life! She was a very special person. She loved nature and it was sacred to her. She was deeply loved. Her loss is so deeply felt. Our extended families offer our deepest condolences and send you loving thoughts & prayers during this difficult time. Families: María, Josh & Benon Loebl; Cecilia & Joe Mendoza; and YB Morales ..

There are no words to express how tragic this life lost is. I remember Cheryl as a strong and loving human who lived life as if every moment counted. She was my sister's best friend growing up and I remember her always smiling and have a powerful being about her. As we edged into adulthood, I remember her moving into the Degere's old house and being so proud of her renovations, and doting as a mother of two active sons who loved to ride their dirt bikes. When I think of Cheryl, I think of ENERGY. Lots of it. Heaven has welcomed a fierce and brave woman. I am so sorry to everyone in her circles, especially her sons, for losing this beautiful human.
