Vellma Ann Allen, 78, of Adams, MA, died unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. She was born in Swampscott, MA on September 4, 1941, daughter of the late Bert P. Allen & Velma M. Jenkins. She was the youngest of 5 children and leaves behind her brothers Courtney Allen and his wife Dilma, Glenn Allen and his wife Marjorie, and Powell Allen and his wife Naomi, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ann attended Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH and was a member the class of 1959. She was primarily a devoted homemaker to her family and three children.
Her children were her life; she leaves behind her daughters, Betsy Sage and husband Ron Sage of North Adams, MA, and Donna Ingalls Fellows of Springfield, MA. She also leaves behind her grandsons, Andrew Cote and Brady Fellows, as well as step grandchildren, Lindsey LaPine, Courtney Sage, and step great grandchildren, Aurora and Emerson Bullett. She was predeceased by her sister Elaine Rodrick, son Scott Ingalls, grandsons Gregory Cote and Brian Ingalls, and her beloved dog and companion, Ziggy.
Ann was a lively and strong woman with a great sense of humor and a deep faith in God. She was an avid reader and enjoyed conversation, cooking, socializing, and telling stories and jokes. She also always showed great courage and resilience in overcoming loss and adversity in her life. Ann is soaring with the angels now, a bright ball of energy, happy, whole, healthy, free and fully loved. Her ever loving nature and quick wit will be missed.

Dear Betsy,Donna and family,
My deepest sympathies to all of you. We truly had some wonderful times as children with your Mom. Going places cramming in her little Pinto. We knew we were always welcome there. May she Rest In Peace until you all see each other again in heaven.
With love,

Dear Betsy and family, Please accept my sincere sympathies over the loss of your mom. I met Ann 7 years ago while we were walking our dogs and we became instant friends. Her cheerful nature and caring ways will be missed by all of us. I admired her strength through the many losses she endured in her life, telling me once when I asked her how she copes, “When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.” She loved you, Betsy and your sister very much and enjoyed times you spent together. Ann was one of a kind and a wonderful friend. Love and hugs to you all, Charlotte Avery

My deepest sympathy to Ann's family. Ann and I began our friendship while in highschool. We had so much fun together. She introduced me to my husband of 58 years. Such a sudden unexpected loss. We texted back and forth a lot and shared what was happening in our lives. Ann was such a wonderful kind person. She will be greatly.missed.
