Obituary for Marceline Catherine "Marcy" Rooney (Poirot)
Marceline “Marcy” Catherine (Poirot) Rooney, beloved aunt, sister and co-pilot, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 4, 1930 on Florida Mountain she was the daughter of Marie (Boeniger) and Louis Poirot.
Marcy attended schools on Florida Mountain and at the age of 14 began working. Marcy worked 50 years at the Sprague Electric Company until her retirement. Marceline spent her beautiful life doing her puzzles, watching her Red Sox, visiting family, and taking walks to North Pond. Her favorite thing to do was to take car rides with her sister Claire. Marceline lived her life to the fullest in her 89 years. Her laughter was infectious and her heart full of love.
Marceline leaves her three sisters, Adeline Berry, Claire Burdick, and Sandra Bergeron, two brothers, Henry and Carolyn Poirot and Charles and Judith Poirot and several nieces and nephews including her three devoted caregivers, Karen Cooper, Jennifer Bean, and Maxx Poirot. Marcy was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Rowett and Rita Dugal and brothers, John and Louis Poirot. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hospice Care of the Berkshires for their loving care.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral to celebrate the life of Marcy will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247. Calling hours will be from 9-11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring time in Florida Church Cemetery.
