Obituary for June F. McConnell
June Frances (Knowlton) McConnell (91) of North Adams, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 1st at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield with family by her side. She was born in June 1928 in Cheshire Massachusetts to Leon L. and Matilda (Major) Knowlton. She was a graduate of Adams Memorial High School in 1946, where she was a member of the DAR Award, and the Crimson Key.
Following Graduation, June was employed through the years at Aladco in Adams, General Electric in Pittsfield, Arnold Print Works in Adams, The Color Shed in Pittsfield, Mobil Center in North Adams, and Grampy's in Adams. After retirement, June became a volunteer at Meals on Wheels in North Adams where she assisted for 11 years.
Besides her three children and their spouses: Robert McConnell and his wife, Mary Ann (Bittner) of West Bloomfield MI; Daniel McConnell and his wife Susan (Cole) of Lancaster, NY; and Linda McConnell and her partner,Wallace Colligan, of Bristol, CT. June is survived by 6 Grandchildren: Gretchen (Wells) Videl, of Cheshire, MA; Rebecca Wells, of Adams, MA; Liisa (McConnell) Klien, of Seattle WA; Kalli (Jason) McConnell, of Springfield, MA; Aleshia (McConnell) Rauch, of Dryden, NY; and Christie McConnell of Liverpool, NY; in addition to 13 Great Grandchildren and two loving pets Binky and Lucy.
June loved her entire family above all else and always put family first….
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of June McConnell will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be at a later date at Bellevue Cemetery in Adams, MA.
