My sincere condolences to the family. Jude and I became friends through the Quilter's Guild and continued our friendship throughout Judith's life. We had many good times going to quilt shows and spending time with each other swapping Kaffe Fassett fabric! She was a brave and intelligent lady who chose to focus her creativity. She had many health challenges and faced them with grace. She leaves a legacy of talent and beauty for her family. May she rest in peace.

Hello, Dear Family of Jude Patoka,

I was deeply saddened to hear of Jude's passing. She always had an adventurous spirit of experimentation and enthusiasm for encouraging others to be creative, and had a sense of humor and focus about teaching the techniques and principles to be applied in bringing a piece to fruition. She was my teacher in a quilting class in Pittsfield and she taught me so many things as an artist. She told us to take risks in our art, because the discoveries would always be worth it. I still have her design principles on the wall of my art studio. She also treated me to an afternoon of creating printed fabric in the driveway of her home. At one point I gave her a print of mine as a thank you- a collage of fabric and paint. It meant a great deal to me when she told me that every time she saw it she "fell in love with it again." I wish peace and good memories for you all. -Deirdre McKenna

Dear Lisa, Sarah and Jennifer: I share with you in your sadness with your mother's passing. I am deeply sorry. She was my dear friend for so long and I had the greatest respect for her creativity , intellect and generous spirit. I always valued her trusted friendship. I did have a dream of her the other evening and have thought of her so many times...I am so glad that she was blessed to have three beautiful women as her daughters. You brought her such joy in her life. She always remains in my heart as my sister as well as friend.
